The day was absolutely beautiful for our 13th Annual Canoe Race! Literally hundreds of people joined together to raise money for two children suffering from debilitating and life threatening illnesses. Participants and those who had come to cheer them on enjoyed a day filled with sunshine, camaraderie and the feeling that they were helping!
The participants supported the cause by purchasing Canoe Race Tee Shirts, bagels and orange juice for breakfast, hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch and beverages. They also bought raffle tickets for the thoughtfully donated prizes. These sales provided a fundraising success, because of your very kind donation.
On behalf of the Canoe Committee and the Massapequa Fire Department, we thank you for your generosity. Without it, our success would not have been possible! Please know you have made a difference in the lives of two
children: Michael DiNunzio and Cory Mendoza.

We had a great day competing for the first time in the Canoe 4 Kids races. What a well run, and executed event, and for such a worthy cause..Good work everyone..looking forward to next year, when maybe I’ll get in a canoe myself!! Nancy N.
